Gladioli Priscilla
G4516
Description
The tri-coloured blooms of gladioli ‘Priscilla’ must be seen to be believed. Ivory petals glow with a golden-yellow undertone, and feature a hot pink, frilled trim.
This flamboyant gladiolus makes a bold statement in the summer garden where the colourful spires will dazzle in the border like divas.
Perfect for cutting and adding height and drama to floral arrangements. For the longest vase-life, cut just as the lowest ruffled blooms begin to unfurl.
Plant the corms in succession, over several weeks in spring to ensure a steady stream of pretty, flowering spires.
Care Guide
To cultivate Gladioli, choose a sunny site with well-drained, well-manured garden soil. Dig a trench 15cm deep and place the corms 10-15cm apart, covering with soil and ensuring they sit 5cm below the surface. Water regularly, maintaining soil moisture until growth is established, and during hot, dry spells of weather. Stagger planting at two-week intervals to ensure continuous flowering over a long period. Expect stately, colourful spikes reaching 60-90cm in height which many require staking for support. The smaller variety ‘Glamini’ Gladioli will reach a maximum height of 50cm.
