Early Single Tulip Salmon Prince
T1328
Description
Like an awe-inspiring, multicoloured sky shifting from dusk to sunset, the blooms of ‘Salmon Prince’ change from coral pink to pastel peach, from soft apricot to primrose yellow as they mature. These chameleonic tulips provide endless interest as you watch their colours progress. Sturdy stems prove resilient to wind and rain, making this Single Early variety well suited to more exposed positions. If you are looking to make an impression in your borders, pots, and vases, ‘Salmon Prince’ offers unique impact early in the season.
Care Guide
November is the optimum month for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring. Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep, spaced 10-20cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area. After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
