Early Double Tulip Mondial
T1262
Description
The softly textured, loosely cupped blooms of ‘Mondial’ sparkle with ethereal brilliance in the spring sunlight. Cushiony, delicate petals of goose-down white are arranged in layers like freshly folded linen. Mid-height, robust stems stand bolt upright, proving resilient to the unpredictable British weather. With its peony-like ruffles, ‘Mondial’ brings delicate romance to your containers, window boxes, and border edges. The generous, lightly feathered flower heads are long-lasting, both in the garden and in the vase.
Care Guide
November is the optimum month for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring. Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep, spaced 10-20cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area. After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
