Canna Picasso
M6093
Description
Bright yellow flowers speckled with vivid red complement the striking blue-green foliage of Canna Picasso. Thriving in partial shade, Picasso brings a tropical flair to containers and borders. This dynamic plant adds bold textures and vibrant colours, transforming shaded garden corners into lush and lively settings.
Care Guide
Start rhizomes off in a greenhouse or conservatory in spring, planting outdoors after the danger of frost has passed.
Lay the root horizontally, 5cm deep in a large pot filled with potting compost and keep the soil damp.
In late May or early June, choose a sunny location with well-drained, rich soil. Plant Cannas 10cm deep and 30-45cm apart.
From July to October, robust stems of exotic, vibrant blooms reach heights of 50-125cm depending on variety.
Shorter cultivars are suitable for pots.
Lift rhizomes in autumn or bring pots undercover for the winter months as tender Cannas do not tolerate freezing temperatures.
