Description

Gazing upon this extraordinary ‘Bicolour Mix’, you will understand the fever-pitch of enthusiasm for two-tone tulips during the 17th century. Carefully chosen to compliment and offset one another, this combination of varieties offers swathes of bold, streaked blooms. Glowing ruby and gold, this collection will be the triumphant jewel in the crown of sunny borders and containers, bringing splendour to your spring display. If you can bear to snip the stems, they make wonderful cut flowers. The assortment included provides a ready-made floral arrangement of well-matched blooms.

Care Guide

November is the optimum month for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring. Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep, spaced 10-20cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area. After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
