Jonquilla Narcissi Yellow Sailboat
N0491
Description
Cruising onto the daffodil scene, Jonquilla Narcissus ‘Yellow Sailboat’ is the new sister to the much admired ‘Sailboat’. This novel variety offers all the advantages of the original in a fresh, vibrant lemon shade. With up to 3 heads per stem, this multi-headed narcissus provides plenty of highly fragrant blooms. The finely pleated, funnel-shaped trumpet is framed by pointed petals which are swept backwards, as though caught on the breeze. ‘Yellow Sailboat’ floats easily amongst borders and lawns in drifts and adds bright buoyancy to rockeries and containers.
Care Guide
Plant Daffodil and Narcissi bulbs in autumn, ideally in mid September to early October to enable roots to establish before a period of cold in winter. A position in full sun or light shade is best and good drainage is essential. Daffodils and Narcissi are long lasting and naturalise well, providing a welcoming display every spring. Ideal for borders, containers, rock gardens and open grass. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep and apart, depending on variety. A good rule of thumb is to plant bulbs 2-3 times their depth. Flowers appear in March and April and should be deadheaded once faded. The foliage should be left to turn yellow and fade naturally on the plant as this helps to feed the bulbs for next year’s blooms.
