Anemone De Caen Mixed Colours
M5096
Description
Bred in Normandy, the French strain of ‘De Caen’ Anemones are prized for their delicate, silken petals, large open blooms and long, graceful stems. This collection of ‘Mixed Colours’ offers an array of the best varieties, providing a range of complimentary shades. Specially chosen to achieve a reliably rewarding display for your borders, beds, and containers, this selection includes an uplifting blend of vibrant blue, misty mauve, sparkling white and radiant red. Originally bred for the florist trade, these ‘Poppy Anemones’ make exceptional cut flowers, and this assortment delivers an instant burst of colour to enjoy in your home as well as your garden.
Care Guide
To grow Anemones successfully, select a partly shaded area with well-drained, humus-rich soil. Pre-soak corms overnight in tepid water, planting 5-8cm deep and 15cm apart the following day. Keep soil consistently moist without waterlogging and feed with dilute liquid seaweed every week during flower production. Graceful stems of open-faced blooms rise to heights of 15-30cm between March and June. The delicate flowers are wonderful for cutting and arranging. Can be grown undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel for earlier flowers and may also be grown in containers or crates.
