Darwin Tulip Pink Impression
T1561
Description
The shapely, showy blooms of ‘Pink Impression’ are bound to make a stunning impact in your garden. With their silken petals of deep cerise fading to pale, ballet slipper pink, these rosy hues are set off beautifully by silver-green foliage. The immense flower heads are borne on long, lithe stems, making them an outstanding variety for floral arrangements and bouquets. ‘Pink Impression’ is ideal for large scale planting to create swathes of strong colour amongst borders and containers. Flaunting an RHS Award of Garden Merit, this Darwin Hybrid is an excellent all-round performer, apt to return for several years as a perennial tulip.
Care Guide
November is the optimum month for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring. Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep, spaced 10-20cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area. After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
