Description

Regal and eye-catching, this ‘Two Tone Mix’ of Triumph tulips is a refined, noble marriage of pure white and rich purple. A perfect pairing of light and dark to provide depth in your spring display, the velvety tones of ‘Negrita’ offer intensity, whilst the sparkling petals of ‘Royal Virgin’ will illuminate and brighten. These varieties bloom simultaneously for maximum impact, with large blooms borne on sturdy stems. Plant this collection in dramatic drifts amongst beds and borders and dot amongst containers for an impressive mid-season show.

Care Guide

November is the optimum month for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring. Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep, spaced 10-20cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area. After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
