Puschkinia Libanotica
M5811
Description
Puschkinia Libanotica, known as The Striped Squill, features dainty stems which bear clusters of pale blue flowers with a deeper blue streak down the centre of each petal. This delicate detailing adds an extra layer of charm and interest, making these blooms truly enchanting. Ideal for naturalising in grassy areas or adding subtle elegance to garden borders, Puschkinia Libanotica’s gentle beauty and intricate patterns provide a delightful visual treat.
Care Guide
Dainty spring beauties which are similar to Scilla, Puschkinia are great for growing in clumps in a rockery and in drifts near the front of a garden border.
Plant the small bulbs with their pointed tips facing upwards, 8cm deep and 8cm apart into any well-drained soil.
Choose a sunny or lightly shaded location for optimal growth. These Mediterranean natives prefer moist growing conditions during spring, followed by a period of warm and dry conditions over the summer months which helps to ripen the bulbs.
Petite stems of enchanting, star-shaped blooms flower during March and April.
