Description
Take a gamble on the thrilling flowers of Gladiolus ‘Las Vegas’ and you will be richly rewarded. ‘What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ – now you can bring the party to your own garden. Flamboyant, flashy, boisterous, this bloom boasts petals bright enough to rival Sin City’s flashing signs. With bi-coloured florets of scarlet red and neon yellow, this variety is no shrinking violet. Enliven your borders and patio display with a bold splash of colour and strong linear structure. Save a few stems as long-lasting cut flowers – they are sure to raise a smile every time you see them in your home.
Care Guide
For early flowering, hardy Gladiolus, choose a warm and sunny, well-drained location.
Plant corms with the pointy side up, 8-10cm deep and 15cm apart in the soil. Provide consistent watering after planting and during dry spells, ensuring soil remains moderately moist.
Plant corms at intervals, every two weeks from spring until early summer for a staggered display.
Robust stems of elegant, sword-shaped blooms rise to heights of 60-75cm between June and August.
After flowering, remove spent and withered stalks and foliage and apply a mulch to the soil in late autumn.
