Description

A majestic Double Daffodil for the garden – Narcissus ‘White Lion’ excels in size and beauty, and it is little wonder that it has been awarded an Award of Garden Merit by the RHS for its fine looks and reliability.

The luxurious, creamy-white flowers are formed by intricate layers of ivory and lemon-yellow folds, surrounded by a ‘mane’ of large, open petals.

Beautifully fragrant, ‘White Lion’ is perfect for growing where its scent and beauty will be enjoyed near a doorway or garden path and makes a fabulous cut flower.

Care Guide

Plant Daffodil and Narcissi bulbs in autumn, ideally in mid September to early October to enable roots to establish before a period of cold in winter. A position in full sun or light shade is best and good drainage is essential. Daffodils and Narcissi are long lasting and naturalise well, providing a welcoming display every spring. Ideal for borders, containers, rock gardens and open grass. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep and apart, depending on variety. A good rule of thumb is to plant bulbs 2-3 times their depth. Flowers appear in March and April and should be deadheaded once faded. The foliage should be left to turn yellow and fade naturally on the plant as this helps to feed the bulbs for next year’s blooms.
