Description

Excellent for cutting thanks to a long stem and handsome looks, Narcissus ‘Lancaster’ is a reliable and attractive Daffodil with the additional bonus of a beautiful fragrance.

‘Lancaster’ blooms in early to mid-spring, boasting a large gleaming white perianth which holds a small gilt cup. The eye of Lancaster’s delicately pleated, yellow cup is deep green and packed with pollen, making it a welcome oasis for early bees.

Plant the perennial bulbs where you will enjoy their beauty and scent, weaving them into your herbaceous borders to add spring joy when they bloom for years to come.

Care Guide

Plant Daffodil and Narcissi bulbs in autumn, ideally in mid September to early October to enable roots to establish before a period of cold in winter. A position in full sun or light shade is best and good drainage is essential. Daffodils and Narcissi are long lasting and naturalise well, providing a welcoming display every spring. Ideal for borders, containers, rock gardens and open grass. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep and apart, depending on variety. A good rule of thumb is to plant bulbs 2-3 times their depth. Flowers appear in March and April and should be deadheaded once faded. The foliage should be left to turn yellow and fade naturally on the plant as this helps to feed the bulbs for next year’s blooms.
