Lily Flowering Two Tone Mixture
T1775
Description
A jubilant duo of lily-flowered tulips to celebrate the end of spring, or the beginning of summer. Whichever way you look at it, May is a special time of year where spring merges seamlessly into summer.
Both beautifully fragrant and elegantly formed with tapered, curving petals - tulip ‘Ballerina’ blooms in warm marmalade tones, and ‘La Perla’ compliments with graceful yellow flowers.
Excellent for container planting and for studding garden borders with sunny colour. Mix the bulbs up for a tonal display, plant side by side, or introduce more bold or subtle colours to tailor your planting design.
Care Guide
November is the optimum month for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring. Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep, spaced 10-20cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area. After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
