Description

A fresh mix, reminiscent of zesty lemons and limes.  Our elegant Yellow & White Pendula Cascade Mix of tumbling, cascade begonias is perfect for pepping up summer container displays.  Well suited to hanging baskets, pots and window-boxes, versatile begonias are easy going plants, which bring bountiful rewards.

Blooms appear in abundance from May until at least September, against a backdrop of angular, verdant green foliage.

Plant the tubers by themselves, in rich compost, or with complimentary plants such as coleus, oxalis or phormiums for a lush and long-lasting display.

Care Guide

Begonia tubers should be started in March or April, in a cold frame or greenhouse.

Choose a pot with a 20cm diameter and several holes in the bottom for drainage.  Fill it with rich, good quality compost, leaving a 5cm gap from the rim.  Plant your Begonia tuber with the hollow side uppermost, ensuring it sits 2.5cm below the soil surface.  Water consistently, keeping the soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged. Place the pot undercover, in a shaded area with temperatures around 18-24°C and shoots will soon start to appear.

Once the danger of frost has passed, usually around the beginning of June, Begonias can be planted out.

Begonias will reach a height of 30-45cm, boasting vibrant, showy blooms ideal for patio containers and hanging baskets.

In October, lift the tubers, remove faded foliage and store in a frost-free place, in dry compost or wood shavings.
