Double Daffodil Golden Ducat
N0284
Description
Often producing two flowerheads per stem, sweetly scented Narcissus ‘Golden Ducat’ is a must for elevating spring gardens. Fully double, golden-yellow blooms burst forth each April, adding an unusual texture and plenty of charm to pots and borders with their ruffled looks.
Named after a trade coin which was used in Europe in the later Middle Ages, ‘Golden Ducat’ will buy plenty of admiration in the spring garden with its unusually layered, brilliant-yellow flowers.
A Daffodil which looks wonderful when mixed with single varieties and fresh spring hues.
Care Guide
Plant Daffodil and Narcissi bulbs in autumn, ideally in mid September to early October to enable roots to establish before a period of cold in winter. A position in full sun or light shade is best and good drainage is essential. Daffodils and Narcissi are long lasting and naturalise well, providing a welcoming display every spring. Ideal for borders, containers, rock gardens and open grass. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep and apart, depending on variety. A good rule of thumb is to plant bulbs 2-3 times their depth. Flowers appear in March and April and should be deadheaded once faded. The foliage should be left to turn yellow and fade naturally on the plant as this helps to feed the bulbs for next year’s blooms.
