Ipheion Jessie
M5558
Description
Petite Ipheion ‘Jessie’ is perfect for planting in drifts near the front of a border and for filling blank spaces in a rock garden for a serene drift of blue.
The azure-blue, star-shaped flowers are painted with a darker stripe along the centre of each petal, and hold a golden, pollen-packed core. Produces a bed of narrow, strap-like leaves which smell faintly of onions.
The blooms smell sweetly, especially on warm days, on stems reaching 10cm tall.
An ideal plant to bridge the gap between spring and summer, when the bulbs have faded, and summer perennials are starting to show colour.
