Large Cupped Narcissi Fortune
N0158
Description
A delicate-looking, Heirloom Daffodil – Narcissus ‘Fortune’ opens its buds in March to reveal buttery yellow, paper-thin petals and a glowing marmalade trumpet. A favourite for naturalising in open grassy areas and orchards, reliably returning every March. Scatter the bulbs in a random pattern and plant where they fall to create a natural drift of spring colour.
‘Fortune’ can also be forced in pots for a ray of indoor sunshine.
Care Guide
Plant Daffodil and Narcissi bulbs in autumn, ideally in mid September to early October to enable roots to establish before a period of cold in winter. A position in full sun or light shade is best and good drainage is essential. Daffodils and Narcissi are long lasting and naturalise well, providing a welcoming display every spring. Ideal for borders, containers, rock gardens and open grass. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep and apart, depending on variety. A good rule of thumb is to plant bulbs 2-3 times their depth. Flowers appear in March and April and should be deadheaded once faded. The foliage should be left to turn yellow and fade naturally on the plant as this helps to feed the bulbs for next year’s blooms.
