Small Cupped Narcissi Barrett Browning
N0222
Description
A long-time favourite Narcissus for naturalising, Barrett Browning has stood the test of time and has been adored by gardeners since the 1940’s.
A pure-white perianth opens up from bud in early spring to reveal the brightest Valencian-orange cup within – a colour combination which makes this rather special Daffodil stand out from the crowd.
For a striking impression, mass plant in swathes through a grassy area such as an orchard or bank.
Narcissus ‘Barrett Browning’ is brilliant for cutting and adding a shot of colour to spring floral displays and looks stunning picked and arranged simply with its own foliage in the vase.
Care Guide
Plant Daffodil and Narcissi bulbs in autumn, ideally in mid September to early October to enable roots to establish before a period of cold in winter. A position in full sun or light shade is best and good drainage is essential. Daffodils and Narcissi are long lasting and naturalise well, providing a welcoming display every spring. Ideal for borders, containers, rock gardens and open grass. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep and apart, depending on variety. A good rule of thumb is to plant bulbs 2-3 times their depth. Flowers appear in March and April and should be deadheaded once faded. The foliage should be left to turn yellow and fade naturally on the plant as this helps to feed the bulbs for next year’s blooms.
