Jonquilla Narcissi Pipit
N0458
Description
Jonquilla Narcissus ‘Pipit’ only gets better with age – watch in wonder as this remarkable flower gradually develops to reveal its true colours. Emerging as a vibrant, sulphur-yellow bloom, look closely and you will see the central trumpet pale to porcelain white, permeating outwards to blanch the base of the petals too. This ‘reverse’ bicolour creates an eye-catching effect with marvellous depth and contrast. Long-lasting, multi-headed and supremely fragrant, ‘Pipit’ is happy to bask in the limelight in pots, at the front of borders, and dotted amongst rockeries.
Care Guide
Plant Daffodil and Narcissi bulbs in autumn, ideally in mid September to early October to enable roots to establish before a period of cold in winter. A position in full sun or light shade is best and good drainage is essential. Daffodils and Narcissi are long lasting and naturalise well, providing a welcoming display every spring. Ideal for borders, containers, rock gardens and open grass. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep and apart, depending on variety. A good rule of thumb is to plant bulbs 2-3 times their depth. Flowers appear in March and April and should be deadheaded once faded. The foliage should be left to turn yellow and fade naturally on the plant as this helps to feed the bulbs for next year’s blooms.
