Arisaema Griffithii
M6032
Description
Curious visitors to your garden will be amazed by the incredible sight of Arisaema ‘Griffithii’ – this extraordinary plant will become an immediate talking point.
Otherwise known as the ‘Cobra Lily’, the hooded shoots of Arisaema extend, curl back on themselves and reveal a spiked tongue – looking exactly like a cobra, ready to strike.
Fascinating not only in form, but also in design, this variety is heavily veined and dappled with mesmerising maroon and green markings. Arisaema Griffithii’ makes a dramatic addition to a cool, shady position in moist, hummus-rich soil.
Care Guide
Plant Arisaema in a cool, shaded location, in well-drained, rich soil. Tubers should be nestled in 15-25cm deep and spaced 15-20cm apart. Soil should be consistently moist without becoming waterlogged as the tubers are susceptible to rot. These intriguing woodland dwellers produce distinctive and unique hooded blooms, reaching heights of 40-60cm from June to September. Apply mulch around the plants in late autumn to protect Arisaema from frost.
