Eremurus Stenophyllus
M5317
Description
Eremurus Stenophyllus, a superb garden plant, offers elegant spikes of bright yellow flowers which age gracefully to orange and brown. Not as tall as other varieties, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. The graceful, changing hues of the blooms add a dynamic and sophisticated touch to the garden. Eremurus Stenophyllus brings a unique and evolving beauty to any landscape, captivating all who behold it.
Care Guide
Grow aristocratic Eremurus in a sunny, well-drained site with light soil. Add a bed of sand to the planting hole if you garden on heavy soil.
Plant the tuberous, spider-like roots 8-10cm deep, spaced 30-60cm apart in the earth. Place in groups of 3 or 5 for impact.
Provide consistent watering, ensuring the soil remains moderately moist particularly during dry spells of weather and whilst the roots settle in.
Majestic, fuzzy spires of yellow, orange or pink will rise to impressive heights of 90-200cm in midsummer when the flowers bloom.
During winter, mulch the area around Foxtail lilies with leaf mould to enrich the soil and add protection against harsh weather.
