Dichelostemma Ida-Maia
M5291
Description
Unusual and exotic Dichelostemma ‘Ida-Maia’ is a wonderful plant to bring punchy colour and interesting texture to the front of a garden border or large feature container.
Loose clusters of tubular crimson flowers with reflexed, lime-green tips and a ruffle of cream, dangle from stems up to 60cm tall.
Known as the ‘Californian Firecracker’, this surprisingly hardy plant thrives in a sunny position and is tolerant of poor soils, making it a brilliant choice for prairie planting and dry, gravel gardens.
Flowers appear during June and July and are highly attractive to bees and pollinators.
