Cosmos Flamingo
M6142
Description
Cosmos ‘Flamingo’ is a guilt-free sweet indulgence to enjoy all summer long, with bubble-gum pink petals and the irresistible scent of milk chocolate. Much like the charming annual cosmos, but with the advantage of delightful fragrance and a perennial habit, this variety will bring pleasure for many months, year after year. Pretty, saucer-shaped blooms wave on long, slender stems above finely divided, feathery foliage. The delicious vanilla scent acts as a magnet to local bees and butterflies, who will flit lightly between the flowers, relishing the sweet nectar. Lift and store these tender perennials under cover over winter.
Care Guide
Plant perennial Cosmos roots 5-8cm deep in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, spacing 30cm apart.
Rich, chocolate-scented, maroon or pink blooms, measuring 5-8cm in diameter are produced in July and August. The alluring, velvety flowers top stems reaching 60-90cm tall.
Not frost hardy. Mulch the crowns with peat-free compost in autumn after cutting back stems or lift and re-pot in a greenhouse for protection.
Can be grown in containers of well-drained, rich compost.
